Loowit Trail – Plains of Abraham to Climbers Bivouac 07-18-2015

Gouged out earth…

Final day of the hike. Was unplanned, as we intended to spend the night at June Lake, however we encountered rather unsavory folk, dogs in our water supply, etc. The road from June Lake was two miles, so I had the other two adults take the younger Scouts out on the trail to the road, while I took the older Scouts up over a ridge past the winter Worm Flows climbing route back to Climber’s Bivouac, where we got the van and took everyone to the Cougar Bar and Grills for burgers, water we did not have to filter, and chairs – after a week of filtering glacial silt and sitting on the group, these seemingly simple things became our treasure for the day.
