Arches National Park 06-10-2021

Balanced Rock

I have been fascinated with the arches in Arches National Park for years and have always wanted to visit. So when the opportunity to plan a trip with my sons presented itself I leaned in hard and researched Utah’s parks and planned an itinerary to see as many parks as possible.

The phots below are from the Park Avenue viewpoint, named as some of the rock formations are said to resemble the row of sky scrapers along Park Avenue in New York.

The Courthouse Area

I love how some of these rocks are so tall and wide on one end, yet so narrow, with a very thin rib extending into the sky.

There was believed to once be an arch here spanning this section of three rocks.

Double Arch

The Double Arch is an amazing formation – as you climb under it, the angles of the sky and arches present interesting photo opportunities. It was exceptionally hot so the shade under the arches was very welcome.
